    Maybe "Hold one finger up for 'one', two fingers for 'two', three fingers for 'three' . . . " and so on.

    But if you are with the person, it would be far easier to show them/demonstrate to them what you mean. (Show them the flashcard if you like):

    Do this for 'one', and this for 'two', and this for 'three' . . .

    There are lots of ways to say this. Here is one.

    • Indicate number "one" or number "two" by holding up the matching number of fingers.
    • Hold up one finger or two fingers to indicate you choice of number one or number two.
