Je souhaite dire

My mother used to organise a children's party, in which there was a quacking competion.

I would be grateful if someone could tell me if what I have put is correct?

Thank you in advance for any help

    Hello Electronica,
What is a "quacking competition"? Whoever quacks the loudest?

If your mother used to, she probably organises many of those party, you should say :
organisait des fêtes pour les enfants.

Concours de déguisement is common in french. Concours de caquetage is not. You couldn't find a perfect translation for it because we don't do this or it will be something like :

Thank you so much everyone for all the insights you have given me into how the French language would deal with the situation I have described.

Yes, I thought a "concours de coin-coin" competion sounded fun too! But in fact, it is imaginary. I am writing a humorous piece about an imaginary fête which is called "La Fête des Canards".
