quarantined

Hello!

A friend of mine has ordered a dress on an English website.
When she checks the status of her order, it is written: order number:1021100 order date:27 Feb 2012 status:quarantined.
What does "quarantined" mean here? Is it simply "en attente"??

Thanks!

    Bonjour,

    Hi,

I haven't heard it used in this way before, but my guess would be that the dress has been held up in customs somewhere, but if your friend is in France and the dress is being sent from England, then I can't imagine why this should be the case... Probably the best thing would be for her to e-mail the site that she ordered from and ask them what it means.

    Thanks for your answers!
Yes it seems weird... I have told her to e-mail the website in order to have some explanations...
    I will tell you!

    I have the solution!! :)
The website has answered to my friend:"when the status of your order is 'Quarantined' this is usually in regards to the routine security checks we administer on your card".
    Merci à tous!
