Can't find this in any dictionary. It's probably a painting term.

La goccia si trova sul bordo con disegni d'oro, fra un RAMAGIO e l'altro

Could it be a typo? Or from the French "ramages"?

Couldn't it be referred to a floreal/botanical painted background, with a branch-like pattern? (branch = ramo)

Thanks for your help! It seems it is a shoot or leaf in a painting, as suggested by Walnut.

I guess it's called ramage (from the French) = pattern with leaves or branches with flowers on paper or fabric

Someone might have wanted to translate it into Italian perhaps?
