Is there an equivalent saying in French ... perhaps one of military origin?

Funnily enough, the only expression that comes to my mind related to social superiority has more-or-less the direct opposite meaning: noblesse oblige. I wonder what that says about our two cultures!

    Why not: À tout seigneur, tout honneur ? (Rank has its privileges: military origin)
