1. What is the difference between: raper and rapist?
2. Is this sentence right?
For the crime that he had committed in the past he was forced to work in the community.

    I didn't think that raper was actually an English word, but I did find it in a dictionary. Both words mean the same thing--a person who rapes/has raped.

    Your sentence is correct, but there is a specific legal jargon in the U.S. for this type of punishment. We might say, "For the crime he committed, he was forced to do community service."
