when you meet someone for the second (third, etc.) time in the same day, you sometimes say re-bonjour. could hi again be a good translation ?

In French it seems to be considered humorous to say "bonjour" to someone you have already greeted that day, in the same way that it is funny to say "bonsoir" when it is actually the morning. But in English, there is no need to say anything other than what you said the first time. So although you CAN say "hi again" or "hello again", it is not necessary; it is perfectly acceptable to just say "hi" or "hello".
