reactivate, deactivate (an account)

Hi all,

I'm wondering how to say "reactivate/deactivate (an account)".

For example, person X has a Facebook account. However, they deactivated (closed) it. Then they reactivated (re-opened) it.

The closest thing I can think of is 關掉 重開 but I'm wondering if there are better words that are more specific to the internet.

Any help is appreciated- thank you!

Thanks everyone! Didn't realize that even the word for "account" is different.

BTW can 停用be used passively? Eg "my account was disactivated (by the forum moderators)". 我的帳號被停用了?

Facebook doesn't represent the most common and modern Mainland Chinese usage as it is blocked in China and not targeting to the group.
账号 is much more common than 账户 and is much more common than 户 to Mainland Chinese.

I believe that in Taiwan, 帳 is far commoner.

Both 帳號 and 帳戶 are in use, but, there is a slight difference in meaning. Consider
    • 請輸入您的帳號:tick:
    • 請輸入您的帳戶:cross:
    • 系統將於三天內,將指定的款項匯入您的帳號:cross:
    • 系統將於三天內,將指定的款項匯入您的帳戶:tick:
    我的帳號被停用了
I can imagine a native speaker saying this, but, personally, I find it a wee bit odd.

I think that 停權 (處分) is more appropriate:
    您的帳戶因違反 Quora 社群規範,已遭停權 (處分)。
