reference depth of the current

Could you help me with the traduction of the "reference depth", please?

Here is the context: "In magnetic materials, induction (B in TESLA) is reinforced by a certain factor commonly called the RELATIVE PERMEABILITY (µr). The reference depth of the current within the workpiece decreases and its apparent resistance increases... The magnetic properties of steel disappear when the temperature reaches the CURIE point at 760°C. The relative permeability then becomes equal to one and the depth of penetration (Reference Depth) increases greatly..." in the instructions manual of the inverter.

I could say: " L'induction (B dans TESLA) des matériaux magnétiques est renforcée par un certain facteur généralement appelé la PERMÉABILITÉ RELATIVE (µr). La profondeur de référence du courant de la pièce/du détail diminue et sa résistance apparente augmente… Les propriétés magnétiques de l'acier disparaissent quand la température atteint le point de CURIE à 760°C. La perméabilité relative devient alors égale à une et la profondeur de la pénétration (profondeur de référence) augmente considérablement…"

    • L'expression profondeur de référence existe en dosimétrie (radiothérapie).
    Voir ici par exemple.
    Je ne saurais dire si l'expression a cours dans ton domaine (vérifier dans la bibliographie ?).
     
    Merci! J'ai trouvé le terme "profondeur nominale de pénétration de courant" que je garderais... à moins de trouver une meilleure version
