Am translating a very difficult piece of French on Air compressors and am having trouble with the following sentence:
'Regeneration is accomplished by reducing the pressure in the tower and passing previously dried purge air through the desiccant bed'

I thought

'En reduisant la pression dans la colonne, l'air de purge seche est passe a travers une couche de desiccant et la regeneration se produit.

Not quite. The original sentence states that regeneration is accomplished by reducing pressure (...) AND passing (...) air. So:

"La regénération s'accomplit en réduisant la pression dans la colonne et en passant à travers le dessicant l'air de purge préalablement asséché."
