We specialize in terminology equivalencies... which means we do not engage in medical/clinical research or provide medical/clinical counseling. Estas son las reglas básicas del foro de Terminología Médica:

1. En este foro se discutirán únicamente asuntos de terminología médica en inglés y español.
2. Los Moderadores se reservan el derecho de reubicar su consulta si estiman que será atendida más rápida o efectivamente en el foro de Vocabulario General.
3. Al hacer su consulta (abrir un hilo de conversación), es imprescindible y obligatorio que provea lo siguiente:

- un título lo más descriptivo posible.​

- oraciones completas donde aparece la terminología que desea traducir.​

- contexto e información de trasfondo sobre el tema que se trata en el escrito que tiene frente a usted. (Indique el área de especialización, si se trata de un proceso o una maquinaria, etc. TODA información suministrada será de gran ayuda para quienes intentan ayudarle a usted).​

4. Al proveer una respuesta, indique (de ser posible) la fuente exacta que sustenta su equivalencia de terminología.
5. Por favor, NO trate de "adivinar" a ciegas. Permita que otros brinden la respuesta correcta.
6. Ayúdenos a mantener un ambiente cordial y de camaradería profesional intercambiando impresiones con el respeto que un colega merece.
7. Evite formular más de una pregunta en el mismo hilo de conversación (aún cuando se trate del mismo tema). Si desea hacer una consulta adicional, por favor abra otro hilo.
8. Absténgase de "conversar" con otros o de hacer comentarios que no estén relacionados al tema inicial de la consulta.

These are the basic rules of the Medical Terminology forum:

1. In this forum we will only address terminology issues in English and Spanish.
2. Forum Moderators reserve the right to move your thread if they feel your inquiry will be faster or better addressed in the General Vocabulary forum.
3. When posing a question (opening a thread), it is mandatory you provide the following:

- a relevant title, as descriptive as possible.​

- full sentences including the terminology you wish to have translated.​

- context and background information on the topic being discussed in the text you have in front of you. (Indicate the specialty field, whether it's a process o a piece of machinery, etc. EVERY BIT of information you provide will be very helpful for the people attempting to help you.)​

4. When replying to a post, indicate (if possible) the exact source/reference material that supports your terminology suggestion.
5. NO "wild guesses" please. Allow other people to provide the correct answer.
6. Help us maintain a cordial, professional ambiance by sharing information in the respectful manner a peer expects and deserves.
7. Please avoid asking more than one terminology question within a same thread (even if it deals with the same topic.) If you want to make an additional inquiry, please open a new thread.
8. Please refrain from "chatting" or making personal comments that veer off the original inquiry's topic.
