Relation between Turkish and Yakutic?

    I tried to find more information about it, but that's hard. What's the relation between Turkish and Yakutic? Because I thought it was remarkable how some words are still very similar, although the distance between Turkey and the Yakutic Oblast is very big.

    They both belong to the same group. Just like Germanic/Romance/Slavic/etc. languages.

    Yes, but the distance between the Yakutic Oblast and some of the other areas of Turkic speech is much smaller than that.

    It's Sakha Republic, not oblast'.
