    thank you both for your help. Context : a close friend had to cancel his visit to Paris (he actually passed away a few days later) and it still feels like a missed rendez-vous...Does it help ?

    Well, that's certainly a very unusual context! (Sorry you lost your friend.)

    Neither of moustic's two suggestions might really fit here--how about: "our meeting that never happened"?
