Until 1994, the renowned hotel had changed its landonwer constantly.

My doubt is about renowned, can you use it like that??? If not, how should it be? Would it be "the world renowned hotel" or would it be better to say... "the well-known hotel? Thanks in advance

  • I agree with vachecow. renowned sounds as though you or it are pressing its attractions altogether too warmly. World-renowned is sometimes said, but well-known is more dignified and sounds as though you are saying something true about the hotel, rather than trying to persuade people to go to stay there.
