replenish <the pots on this shelf> <this shelf with the pots<

I have made up the sentences below.

(1) I said, "We received a large shipment this morning. You can replenish the pots on this shelf."

(2) I said, "We received a large shipment this morning. You can replenish this shelf with the pots."

I am not sure which one is correct. Please help me. Thanks.
 
  • "Replenish the pots" sounds as though you mean you are going to refill the pots (put new stuff into them).
    "Replenish the shelf" is nearer the mark. It's not idiomatic, but does seem to mean put new pots of stuff on the shelf.
    I'd say "restock the shelf".
