Can I use "stand upright" in the sense of "restare in piedi"? I'd like to use it figuratively, something like "I strive to stand upright but inside I am falling".
Is it correct?

YOU MUST CHOOSE THE ORIGINAL SENTENCE AS A TITLE, NOT YOUR TRANSLATION ATTEMPT

"I strive" implies a long term, continuing effort or struggle. If you are simply referring to a current/short term situation, you could try something like this:

"I am trying to stand on my feet but inside I'm crumbling/hurting"
"I am trying to cope but inside I'm crumbling/hurting"
