revirement de jurisprudence

New Member

In law we often use the expression "revirement de jurisprudence" when a Court makes a new decision, innovative, different from the common principles used in earlier cases. In this dictionnary I only found the translation "turnaround" for "revirement". However, it seems to me that it is not a correct translation in this case. In google translation they say "departure from precedents". Sounds to me a bit better but I would like to know if there exists an idiomatic expression used in law and having an equivalent meaning.

Thank you very much.
