rincón

In the San Juan Mountains of Colorado there are two high mountain valleys just off of the Continental Devide; they are named Rincón La Vaca and Rincón La Osa. When I look up rincón I get the following:
rincón m
1 (ángulo de una estancia) corner
2 (espacio pequeño) small space
When I go the other way I get the following: corner nombre 1 (interior) rincón
There is no mention of rincón when I look up space.
Does anyone have a literal translation for the two mountain valleys, Rincón La Vaca and Rincón La Osa?
Thanks.

I may not have a literal translation, but I may attempt to shed a bit of light on the subject....

When a person finds his own little corner of the world to call home... in Spanish we say "encontré mi rincón del mundo".

So--and this is WILD guess-- maybe the names of those mountain valleys were inspired by someone noticing they were the Cow's home and the Bear's home (meaning, their respective corners of the world).

Doesn't that sound romantic, as in part of the area's innate charm?
Hey, I tried my best. :)
