especially the origin for RODE.

I thought it was "cap" that was more commun, no?

It seems to be the name of a company making ski accessories including ski wax and "nordic" clothing. It was created by Rodeghiero Rizzieri, known as RODE, a famous Italian cross-country ski champion in the late forties and then trainer of the national ski team.
