Room 101 or THE room 101?

Hi!

I'm working on a translation and I'm not sure about the right way of indicating a specific hotel room.
Should I say, e.g. THE room 101 or room 101?

I think the second one is cleaner but I'm not sure.

Thank you in advance!

"Room 101" is like a name. Names don't take articles. It's "I will go with Sergeant Harper," not "I will go with The Sergeant Harper." (There are a few exceptions for famous people, such as if we want to emphasize that we sailed with THE Admiral Nelson, not some other admiral who happens to have the same family name, but they are rare.)

    Thank you Egmont!
I think your explanation to be really similar to the one I gave myself in my head, while I was ruminating on the rule :)
