Jackman eased the car around a sharp bend. In front of them they saw an apology for a car park. Ahead were the sea-bank, the marshes, and a decrepit wooden hut with a weather-beaten painting of a seal on the wall. They got out of the car into a damp miasma of salty drizzle.

How can a drizzle be salty (containing/tasting of salt)?

miasma: a mass of air that is dirty and smells unpleasant.
an apology for: a very poor or inadequate example of: we were shown into an apology for a bedroom.
decrepit: worn out or ruined because of age or neglect: a row of decrepit houses.

Thank you.
