Hi guys. I'm having trouble with another word from the Aranyakaparvan.

तस्य रेतः प्रचस्कन्द दृष्ट्वाप्सरसं

What is प्रचस्कन्द?

स्कन्द seems to be an emission or something (which makes sense here) but what is प्रच doing?

Any help is appreciated.

Greetings,

It is प्र-चस्कन्द the 3rd person perfect active singular of प्र-स्कन्द्‌- = to gush/spill, etc.

You are welcome. I presume you are not using grammar materials written in English; so just for information, in English the correct term is not "double" but "reduplication". In Sanskrit - अभ्यासः |
