What does it mean by "le leoneddas"? Why is this plural noun "leoneddas" with a singular article "le" ahead? Thank you very much!

"The launeddas (also called Sardinian triple clarinet) are a traditional Sardinian woodwind instrument made of three pipes, each of which has an idioglot single reed. Those are the Italian articles: In Sardinian, the corresponding articles would be sa launedda singular, sas launeddas in the plural.
