saxon genitives and contracted forms in a formal presentation

If I orally present a project in a conference, for example,and I have to use formal language I will avoid using saxon genitive (Peter's ball), short forms (can't, isn't, he's, etc..), even though it sounds full of "of" and the sentences are too long?

    I think you are asking if it would be appropriate to use saxon genitives and contracted forms in a formal presentation.
    I would. The alternative would sound very strange to me.
