Hola a todos,


Este es un extracto de Cuando era puertorriqueña. Por Esmeralda Santiago.

Mami canturreaba un danzón[...]

Una mariposa roja se le acercó y voló alrededor de su cabeza. Ella se asustó y le dio un golpazo que mandó a la mariposa contra el suelo.

--¡Huy! Parecía como que se me metía al cerebro--murmuró con una sonrisa turbada.



No entiendo lo que quiere decir: Parecía como que se me metía al cerebro en este contexto.

Creo que la nina está hablando no la mamá pero es difícil saber.

    It is probably the mother talking; "Una mariposa roja se le acercó" (it got close to her). She knocked it down and then she tried to explain her action; "(It was so close to me that) I thought it would encroach on / get into my brain!" [and yes; just in a figurative sense]

    I agree , I would translate " It felt as if it was getting/trying to get into my brain" instead of " ...it went into".
