SEARCH: only 1 works from include deleted / exclude deleted / only search deleted

Hello Mike,
just in case this is not deliberate; advanced search only does the search one way for me, the results are all threads including deleted no matter which option of these 3 is chosen.

Deleted threads? You shouldn't be seeing or have the option to see the deleted threads, right? As I remember it, only moderators should be able to see deleted threads.

There were some updates to some search plugins a couple of weeks ago. This might have caused a change. The updates were also problematic in some ways and I am waiting for the problems to settle down before I update them again. Hopefully, I will do it this coming weekend.

I don't see them.
The difference between a post and a thread when it consists of just one post is making my head spin.

If I stay with 'search everything' tab:

I tried again and found out that switching those three options
only search deleted / exclude deleted / include deleted

does work, but to switch from the default (include deleted) to one of the other two options one needs to refresh the page (which then deletes the search term).

OK, I just tested it.

Only search deleted - works. I only see deleted threads.
Include deleted - works. I see deleted and "not deleted" threads.
Exclude deleted - Not working. I see some deleted threads.

I am searching for the word "question".

Is this different from what you see? I think so.

The search add-ons that I use keep getting bug updates. The last one was yesterday. I am waiting a week after their last bug update before applying the changes. I hope that the changes fix this issue. If not, I will investigate more.

Yes you are right, it is not working as you say;

Is this different from what you see? I think so.

It is different just because of access then...
But otherwise the same; I cannot exclude deleted from search within my own threads.



I will try later to see if bug improves the switching for me.

Going from 'include deleted' to 'exclude deleted' took multiple refreshes. Several times even after refresh when I ticked 'exclude deleted' tick; 'only search deleted' results appeared.

Ah, that is right. I am starting to remember. You should be able to see your own threads and posts that have been deleted, but nobody else's.

I plan to work on this next week.

I saw that that section to include or exclude deleted posts was added by an add-on. I thought about it some and I don't think the option is very useful. So, I removed the option.

Siares, I don't think that is what you wanted me to do! But I think it is best to remove it and keep the search a bit more simple.
