Is there a difference between:
"The key to losing" weight and "the secret to losing weight" ?
In an exercise in preparation for the FCE you have to choose between key and secret.
The right word is Key. However, in several internet pages they use "the secret of losing weight"
Can anyone help me understand why "segret is wrong?
The sentence is " The ....... to losing weight or maintainig weight loss is a sensible diet ......
Thank you

I agree with Glenfarclas, but in addition you should note that we say "the secret of losing weight is..." or "the key to losing weight is..." The sentence has "to losing weight", so "key" fits and "secret" doesn't.

Thank you to both of you.
I thought that the word "secret" should be followed bythe preposition "of", but on the internet several sites use the expression "secret to losing" and this confused me.
