hi,
how can I translate this sentence?
“C’è un trend nuovo anche per noi” nota D. S., che ha seguito la ricerca per l’Italia
I tried to translated it in this way:

“There is a new trend also for us” says D. S., who ??? the research for Italy.

I don't know which verb to use. I don't think "to carry out" it's the right one...

It depends on what exactly was the role of D.S. A few possibilities:

He coordinated/oversaw the research (effort)
He spearheaded/managed the research (effort)
