yeah but i really need to use the word gastronomy with an adjective,
so something like "first-class gastronomy" like fabrice suggest

i dont know what sounds better select or first-class

    does someone has other ideas?

In English there are expressions like - a select few, but it isn't used as much as in French.
Another suggestion - the epitome of French gastronomy

Well you have a lovely, marvellous, incredible, bilingual dictionary at your disposal - it's called word reference (anglais-français) I suggest that you might like to use it.
