Estoy tratando de traducir al Inglés la expresión "Semillero de Investigación" que es diferente a grupo de investigación. El contexto es que estoy tratando de explicar que pertenezco o hago parte de un semillero de investigación.

En ese caso, sería correcto decir: " I take part of a hotbed of research on renewable energies" para decir "hago parte de un semillero de investigación en energias renovables" ?

I don't think seedbed or any of the other suggestions in post #2 will convey much to an English-speaking audience. It's a particular type of research team or group, and I believe you may have to call it "research group" or "research team"and then explain the nuances.
