Hello,
hope everyone had a great weekend,
just workin away and wondering how to best
decir "es un hombre sencillo" en ingles

"a simple man" es neutral o no?

"a natural man" sounds like he's a granola or something...

please advise.

Depending on the exact context, maybe something like:

    • He's an unaffected man.
    • He's a sincere man.
    • He's an unassuming man.

    I like unpretencious

Yes, "unpretentious" is another good word. But be careful with "unsophisticated" -- depending on the context, which we don't know here, it can imply more than one may want:

"adj 1: not wise in the ways of the world; "either too unsophisticated or too honest to promise more than he could deliver"; "this helplessly unworldly woman"- Kate O'Brien
2: lacking complexity; "small and uncomplicated cars for those really interested in motoring"; "an unsophisticated machine" [syn: uncomplicated]
3: lacking experience of life; "a callow youth of seventeen" [syn: callow, inexperienced, naive]
4: awkwardly simple and provincial; "bumpkinly country boys"; "rustic farmers"; "a hick town"; "the nightlife of Montmartre awed the unsophisticated tourists" [syn: bumpkinly, hick, rustic]
    5: lacking sophistication [syn: naive]
