Hello,


which of the two following sentences would you prefer to use when it should sound informal? To me the first one sounds better, do you agree?

I just wanted to make sure that I have the correct address before sending off the letter.
or
I just wanted to make sure that I have the correct address before I send off the letter.

    Either "before sending off" or "before I send off" is correct. I don't think either is more or less "formal" than the other.

    I agree that either is correct, but if you are playing around with the tone you might also consider leaving out the "that" and/or the "off".
