Hi everyone!

It's my first thread and post, I would like to ask some native speakers how (s)he would say this :

1)"I would like a new barclays branch would open nearby"
2) "I would like a new barclays branch to be opened nearby"
3) "I would like they to open a new barclays branch nearby"

Are these three sentences correct ??
Which one(s) a native speaker would really use to express a prefer/wish ?ù

Thanks !!!

I would like a Barclays to open nearby.
I hope a Barclays opens nearby.

No need for "new" or "branch" really.

    Welcome to the forum. :)

In my opinion 1) and 2) are wrong constructions and no native speaker would say them.
    3) would be correct and natural for the native speaker except for one mistake: the personal pronoun should be in the object form after like.

'I would like them to open a branch of Barclay's (bank) nearby'. (Or even informally 'I'd like them to open a Barclay's nearby').

Sentence (2) is fine and idiomatic enough in BE. :)
But neither (1) nor (3) is grammatically correct. :(

[Edit]: I'm not sure what Hermione thinks is wrong with (2).

    1 is definitely wrong.
3 is wrong as written, but could be fixed as Hermione suggested.
2 is acceptable, though I would prefer open to be opened.

And I think I like Hermione's "informal" version best.
