In other words, the versions of use you have suggested are all very very different in meaning. When in active, it means, "I believe", "I presume", "I expect", when in passive, it means: "it is expected of me", "I have to".

You may be right, but suppose is quite idiosyncratic in the way it changes meaning. rafaelgan generally asks interesting questions.
