Hi, all,
June 8 saw the College Entrance Examination (English) in Shanghai. The 3rd sentence of translation refers to a mother, who sets the alarm clock. The whole sentence I think should be:

Mom sets the alarm clock ringing every six hours as a reminder to take her baby's temperature.

But it is said that the infinitive also works, i.e.
Mom sets the alarm clock to ring every six hours as a reminder to take her baby's temperature.

Please kindly check to see which of the two is the correct.
Thanks a lot in advance.

The second version with the infinitive is the sentence that looks correct to me, Maxwell. "Sets the alarm clock ringing" sounds very odd.
