My grandmother used to say something that sounded like heeded in English to say shame or shame on you. His, hyz?? I don’t know Czech. What is the word?

My best guess: your grandma would exclaim “Ježíši!” given the context. It’s a call to Jesus. My Slovak friends would say, “Ježíši Mária!” in a similar situation.

Very little context to go on here, but I'd say you're only remembering the last part of the phrase že se nestydíš! - you should be ashamed (of yourself)! Shame on you!

There's also styd' se! (imperative of stydět se) - be ashamed! But that sounds further away from what you seem to remember.

I can only think of the word "hanba" (shame), it is a noun, but it is also used as an exclamation, but the pronunciation is not very similar to what you write... but it starts with the letter H...
where was your grandmother born? Maybe it's some dialect...
