Share of/in

Hola a todos:

No estoy segura de la preposición que debo usar en la siguiente frase:

"Mr. xx has a 10% share in/of this power generation company."

La frase en Español: "Mr. xx tiene una participación de un 10% en esta compañía generadora de energía".

¿Cuál sería la correcta?

Hmm -- my first thought was that "in" was more appropriate.

Tendría "a share in" a company o market pero "a share of" a market.

    Ejemplos desde las noticias: (Notas el estilo telegráfico (locuciones no completas) en los resumenes informativo or de noticias;
    in:
"Volkswagen set to take 20 percent share in Suzuki."
"Citigroup buys 5 percent share in Shanghai Pudong Development Bank "
"Baosteel buys 85 percent share in largest steel maker in Xinjiang"
"Opinion is divided on whether the state's acquisition of a 78 percent share in BTA was necessary"

"Boeing eyeing over 30 percent share in Indian defence market"
"Sony India targets 20 percent share in notebook market"
"Emami eyes 15 percent share in packaged edible oil market"

    of:
"Bing Captures 7 Percent Share Of U.S. Search Market In June"
"Android gobbles up 20 percent share of U.S. smartphone market "
"Apple claims 35 percent share of worldwide computer profit."
"...giving the iPhone a 25.3 percent share of users"
"iTunes itself snagged a 69 percent share of the overall digital music arena"

    As I understand it:

"10%" is a measure "of" something.

One invests or makes an investment "in" something.

.... made a large investment "in" xyz company last week.

....plans to make a 10% investment "in" xzy company last week.

.... purchased 20% "of" xzy company last week.
