She left her home.

English - American
Hi everyone

Is there a difference between تركت بيتها and خرجت من بيتها?

  • Hello,

خرجت من بيتها = "She exited her house." or "She set out from her house."
تركت بيتها = "She ditched/let go of/abandoned her house." or (with ل) "She left her house [for the use of someone]".

You wouldn't really use ترك for the meaning of departing. Modern Arabic uses غادر for this meaning as discussed here: To leave

Classical Arabic I believe would use خرج as you have, or verbs that mean "setting out" like انطلق , or verbs that mean turning around/aside like انصرف and انحرف
