"she padded barefoot across the pale granite tiles to the medicine chest over the sink".

I really cannot picture the image in my mind. Could anyone help me? cheers

    有道理,不过小说之前有提到granite, 是那种厨房柜子上面的花岗岩表面,倒是不难联想,she swung her shopping up on to the granite of her kitchen benchtop. 我怀疑这里的granite files, 会不会指的不是地面,而是桌子的表面。

    是,还是看语境。tiles可以指墙上的瓷砖也可以是地上的厨房台上面的。不过如果从桌子上(她把买的东西仍上去,说明不矮)走过去确实不太容易想象。

    一般国外都是将药箱放在卫生间或者浴室的盥洗池上方的墙柜里,所以结合这句话就是:她赤脚穿过用灰白大理石(瓷砖)铺成的地面去拿盥洗池上方(墙柜里)的药箱。
