i want to know if this is the rigth way to write the sentence..!!!

"She showed an improvement in her grades, they went up instead of going down."

Help me please!

    I agree with Stranger IYM. These are two related insubordinate clauses so you can use a semicolon to separate them and keep them somewhat attached.
