Sicilian: stupagghiara

Just thought it would be fun to hear comments on some of my favorites.....


today's choice is: stupagghiara

Googling the word the only link I foud brought me to a report regarding the history of mafia, 'ndrangheta and camorra. Within the report the word "stupagghiara" was referred as the name of a "cosca mafiosa" active near Monreale in 18th century

well, as i am sure that it's not exactly a word used in polite conversation, i'm not surprised it couldn't be found!

In that case, it sounds like a warning icon is in order -- maybe two!
