    English - England
English is my mother tongue, and "silk-hung wall" does not by itself mean much to me.
A wall that is hung with silk? That is, with pieces of silk cloth hanging from it?

As so often, you need to give a context before anyone can help.

In palaces, manors and halls of the, let's say, seventeenth to the nineteenth century, there was a fashion of covering the walls with embroidered or painted silk. Is that what you refer to? Unfortunately, I don't speak French. I suggest you ask at the French forum.

    Good luck!
