single mom club

Hi there,

I'm writing a short essay about the book About a Boy by Nick Hornby. In the book, one of the characters, Will, a thirty-six-year-old, invents a two-year-old son in order to lure in moms at a single mom club. So my question is, how do I say "single mom club" in French?

Thank you!

Hi vsop44 and thank you: filles-mère is a construction I wasn't aware of. It will come in handy is other contexts but here I need something that doesn't have that connotation of "too young to have a child."
So I'll go with "un club de femmes mères célibataires" -- thank you, Fred_C, for correcting that: it's mères, indeed.

Hi again, that's what I meant, but the line from Fred_C's post didn't show in mine. Thanks! How do I cross out a word, anyway?
