situation where we don't end up insulting each other

< Previous | Next >
Hi,
I'd like to know if all three versions sound acceptable to native English speakers.

1 I want to have a serious discussion with you where we don't end up insulting each other.
2 I want to have a serious discussion with you that doesn't end up with us insulting each other.
3 I want to have a serious discussion with you in which we don't end up insulting each other.

By the way, there is no source, I made the sentences up myself.

    #2 doesn’t work for me:

I want to have a serious discussion with you that doesn't end up with in us insulting each other.

#2 could perhaps be fixed--it's wordy if nothing else: "...that doesn't end with insults."
So I'd recommend 1, as it stands.
