Hello,

If someone wants to say that sometimes he/she does not eat at breakfast, lunch, or dinner, he/she can say: I usually skip food or skip meals?
Thank you guys for your help:)

"Skipping meals" is a very standard expression here in the US.

    - Skipping meals is not a good idea if you want to lose weight.

I know some people for whom food seems "optional". They don't so much skip meals, as they fail to become hungry. For them, I might say, "Occasionally, it seems, that for Mike eating is optional; he never seems to get hungry."

I had a friend and I would ask him, "Did you eat lunch yet?" and he'd reply, "Nah, I forgot." "Optional".

Now, how do you know my habits and my name? :D

"Skipping food" would be fasting, forgoing food altogether. "Skipping meals" would be omitting some meals, for example eating breakfast and dinner but having no lunch. Very different!
