How do you understand the slick as a whistle?

    Do you mean it refers to the motion of handing over? By the way, at your link, it's "clean as a whistle". Just before handing over the baby, Ben cleaned him up. Could it refer to that, what do you think?

    All the "xxx as a whistle" are more or less the same - the link explains this. And, yes, given the extra context, it could mean that Ben has cleaned him up.

    I also went in search of a trailer from the film, and see that the characters are American, and thus speaking AE: that bit of information would have helped too...
