"After Storm, Commuters Navigate Slick, Slushy Roads."

“It was an awful commute; the roads were so slippery with rain and still unplowed,” said Ms. Cunningham, 49, a teacher who lives in Medford. “It was so bad it was like driving over rocky terrain.”

What is the difference between "slick" and "slippery"?

Do we say "slippery roads" or " the roads were so slick"?
