hi,
reading many Slovak dictionaries I couldn't find an explanation to what prasklina and puklina ( pozdĺžna medzera vzniknutá puknutím, prasklina, trhlina) trhlina (voľný priestor vzniknutý roztrhnutím, rozdvojením niečoho)
they both translated the English 'crack' which also means 'vzniknutý bez rozdvojením niečoho)

but a pot with a crack ,or a cracked pot also looks like this:

and here you have a cracked cup

how do you translate the objects in the pictures?

  • puknutý/prasknutý džbán
    puknutá/prasknutá šálka

If something is only slightly cracked, I might prefer to use puknutý over prasknutý but that may just be me.

    Thanks invictus,
how would you express the fact that the crack has not divided the surface, would you use an adjective: jemná, úzka puklina, or would you say trocha puknutá šálka?

It depends but, in general, I would likely talk about cups (and then qualify them, if necessary) rather than just focus and elaborate on their cracks, so: jemne/trochu puknutá šálka.
