Hello,all

I am going to ask a sentence written as below:

I wore shapeless flowered flannel shifts and felt like a slow wool ship as I lugged my books to school and back in tights and clogs.
from a book: you don't look like anyone I know,by heather sellers(Riverhead books,2010)

I've searched everywhere to look for the meaning of "slow wool ship" but no result,if you know, pls help me,thanks a lot!

It is a simile, she is wearing bulky clothes made of wool/flannel which make her feel like a boat moving very slowly, making little progress on her journey to school and back.
