It is …………….lovely today to play. We prefer to stay out much.
a. so
b. such a
c. too
d. enough

Absolutely option "a" would be the correct one because today is an adverb. Am I right?

Yes, it is an awkward sentence irrespective of which word is chosen. :)

However, c. is also possible and says that we should not waste the day playing, the day is so good that, instead of playing, we could do something better - for instance we could do some 'preferring to stay out much' :D
